YEAH MY PREP START THE 28. I'M CURRENTLY 280 AND STILL LEAN SO I EXPECT TO GET ON STAGE AT 250.. VERY EXCITED BRO.. THIS OFFSEASON IS GOING GOOD FOR ME.. GLAD YOUR ENJOYING YOURS!! WHATS NEXT FOR YOU?
Hey Dusty...just looking for an honest opinion...do you believe that quality muscle can only be added in the off season by gaining (what I consider to be) insane amounts of weight and body fat. I tried that last year and while I did gain some muscle for my shows this past season...it was really no more than I had gained the year prior by staying somewhat lean. I hate feeling fat and bloated and I prefer to look relatively decent year around but wonder if I just did something wrong last year (i.e. didn't plan correctly)? or does it just not work that well to add tons of weight for some people. I am really meticulous on meal consistancy and prep but maybe I still didn't do it right. Any thoughts?

I assume you are talking two high carb days per week rather than one? If that is the case then I would have to say that I cannot answer that in a way that applies to everyone because it depends on what your body needs. If you are on a high fat diet you may not "need" any high carb days or if you are on a low fat diet you may have high to moderate carb levels daily. Myself I follow a moderate fat moderate carb diet and I do a large carb day whenever my body looks to be flattening out...apparently last season I should of had more high carb days over the last four weeks...LOL

I don't think their is a need to ever get sloppy in the offseason. I know a lot of people use the offseason as a time to eat a bunch of garbage that has no caloric quality and and use the excuse that they are "bulking"...Honestly, that is just BS and they are not wanting to stay in decent shape. Look at what your results have shown you because obviously they will never stear you wrong. At the end of the day you felt you gained a n equal amount of quality mass when staying in good offseason shape while being happy with how you looked and felt as you did when you got sloppy and hated the way you looked.
Go to what you know because that will yield you the best results.

I am willing to compete until I stop making changes in my physique or I stop enjoying it. I have done two pro qualifiers so far and plan on doing one more...

Respect!
Right now at 10 weeks out I feel I an still holding alot of fat, right now I am only have one high carb day, I am still losing 1-2 pds a week, but I think I need to kick it up harder for the next 2-3 weeks. Could adding in one more higher carb day help rev up my metabolism even faster?
(by high carb day I mean high carbs, low fats, high protein)

What I suggest is that you do not put any "rules" on how to diet. In other words do your low days and watch the mirror and turn off your mind other than to base all decisions off of what the mirror tells you to do and ignore all other feelings...especially hunger.
I say that because if I was behind schedule I would not add kcals as a way to fix the problem. I would push the envelop in the other direction by going as many low days as possible before doing a higher carb/calorie day. Go 5-7 days with out doing a higher carb day and watch as your body progresses. You will be surprised with extra bodyfat how long your body can go before it truly "NEEDS" more kcals. AGain, watch the mirror close because you do not want to lose hard earned muscle (like i did last year) but even worse than that would be to step on stage out of shape.
